Distance Video/Phone Conference FAQs

HOW DO I SCHEDULE A VIDEO/PHONE CONFERENCE?

STEP 1: All New First Time Clients begin by scheduling the “New Introductory Video Consultation” (15 min, $50). This consult allows for you to meet Dr. Keller via Video/Phone to assess compatibility between the two of you. After your consultation you will receive an e-mail with a coupon code. This coupon code is valued at $50 and allows you to put that $50 towards your “New Client Video/Phone Conference” or “New Patient Office Visit” if you decide to schedule with Dr. Keller for further care.

STEP 2: The “New Client Video/Phone Conference” (45 min $375) involves a thorough review of the extensive paperwork provided by Dr. Keller’s office. Dr. Keller will review your health information and give feedback/educational information regarding recommended next steps in your care. She can order certain labs for you and recommend supplements / herbs, and provide you with a plan post visit. Please note that due to the fact that you have not seen her in-person means that she is not your physician. This means that she can not diagnose you, provide you with CPT / Diagnosis codes for insurance, write prescriptions for you, or order certain labs for you. 

Step 3: After the “New Client Video/Phone Conference”, follow-up visits (paid for separately) would be anywhere from every week to every 30 days in the beginning depending on the complexity of the client’s plan. Follow-up Video/Phone Conferences will be to follow-up on any further questions, review lab results, review current supplement/medication lists, expand on plan information, next steps, etc…

DOES DR. KELLER OFFER AN INITIAL CONSULT?

Dr. Keller offers a 15-minute Introductory Video Consultation for potential new Clients/Patients at a reduced rate of $50. You are given a discount code at the end of your consultation to apply the $50 towards your future visit if you decide to schedule as a Patient (New Patient Office Visit) or Client (New Client Video/Phone Conference).

 

HOW MUCH DO DISTANCE VIDEO CONFERENCES COST?

The Introductory Video/Phone Consultation is 15 min $50  *please note that this is a ONE time offer to those who are new to seeing Dr. Keller

The New Client Video/Phone Conference is 45 min $375

The Return Client or Patient Video/Phone Conference is 45 min $375

The Return Client or Patient Video/Phone Conference is 15 min $150

 

HOW MANY FOLLOW-UP VISITS WILL I NEED?

This will depend on the complexity of the Patient/Client. Follow-up visits could be anywhere from every 7 days to every 30+ days depending on the specific case.

 

ARE LABS AND SUPPLEMENTS INCLUDED IN THE VISIT PRICE?

No, labs and supplements are not included in the visit pricing and are an additional cost. We offer different options for lab testing to best accommodate you and run specials on supplements frequently.

 

WHAT IF I NEED TO CANCEL OR RESCHEDULE MY CONSULTATION?

When you schedule any visit with Dr. Keller you receive a confirmation email with the date/time of the visit along with other relevant details. To reschedule or cancel your visit, please use the link provided in the confirmation email.

Cancellations / Re-scheduled visits must be made at least 24 hours prior to the visit. Cancellations and re-scheduled visits less than 24 hours prior to the visit will be charged the full price of the visit and will need to re-schedule the visit. Refunds for advanced notice cancellations will be processed within 48-72 business hours. No refund will be offered for visits cancelled with less than 24 hours notice.

If you are 15 minutes late to an appointment you are considered a No-Show and you will be charged the full price of the visit and will need to re-schedule for further visits.

*The Cancellation/Re-schedule & No-Show Policies apply to all visits: Introductory Video Consultations, In-Person Office Visits, and Video/Phone Conferences.

SHOULD I HAVE TESTING DONE AND RESULTS IN BEFORE SCHEDULING WITH DR. KELLER?

Having test results prior to your visit with Dr. Keller is not required, and tests requested by Dr. Keller may differ from person to person based on their personal healthcare journey and what testing they have had recently. Some testing that Dr. Keller may request is listed below (please note: this is not an extensive list, is in no specific order, and what is ordered will be dependent on the specific Client):

HOW LONG OF A VISIT SHOULD I SCHEDULE?

If you are a return Patient or Client and have 1-2 quick questions then a 15-minute visit should suffice. However, if you are wanting to review lengthy labs (or multiple labs) and/or have multiple questions for Dr. Keller, we encourage you to schedule a 45-minute visit so that you have time to review the information and questions you are wanting to review.

 

WILL DR. KELLER REVIEW MY RECORDS PRIOR TO VISITS? IF SO, HOW DO I UPLOAD LABS?

Dr. Keller does not review any labs for the Introductory Video Consultations. 

Dr. Keller does review labs for Video Conferences and In-Person Office Visits along with the in-depth “New Patient/Client Paperwork” or “Follow-Up Questionnaires” prior to your visit. The labs/records are uploaded by you to “CHARM”, the portal used by Dr. Keller to share medical information with our Patients and Clients. When you schedule, Dr. Keller’s assistant creates a CHARM account for you the day before your scheduled visit. You can then upload your labs/records there. Please note: there are certain labs/records that are more important in the beginning, so Dr. Keller would focus on these first. This means that she may not review certain labs you include until a later date in your treatment/care with her. Many of our patients/clients have been dealing with health concerns for years, so they come to us with fifty to hundreds of pages of labs, chart notes, etc… This is not realistic for her to look through, especially prior to an appointment/conference. The treatment and care really does have to go in steps and within those steps certain labs are more relevant than others and she will make that call.

 

FOR MY VIDEO/PHONE CONSULTATION, WILL DR.KELLER CONTACT ME OR WILL I CONTACT HER? 

Dr. Keller performs the Video Conferences with her Patient and Clients via SKYPE. Please add Dr. Keller to your SKYPE Contacts List: MKellerND. She will confirm the invite the day of your visit. If you do not want a video conference and would like to speak on the phone instead, please DO NOT add Dr. Keller as a SKYPE contact. Dr. Keller will contact you via the phone number you provided when you scheduled your initial conference.

 

DOES DR. KELLER BILL INSURANCE?

No. Dr. Keller is not contracted with any insurance companies and does not process insurance claims for patients. We believe that third party payers should not interfere with the Doctor-Patient relationship, influence medical decisions, or limit access to care. Your case requires special attention and time that is not covered by insurance companies.

  • In-Person Office visits: Dr. Keller does not accept insurance for in-person office visits or video/phone conferences . However, if you are seen in-person we can provide you with a coded “insurance friendly” super-bill which you can then submit to your insurance company for possible reimbursement. Please note: If you have not been seen in-person by Dr. Keller at least 1x/year we can not provide you with a coded super-bill.
  • Treatment: Generally not covered unless you have prescription coverage (for pharmaceutical medications only), HSA card, MSA account, or something similar.
  • Lab testing: If you have insurance, some or all of the testing may be covered. Please consult with your insurance company regarding coverage of lab testing.

 

CAN YOU PERFORM FOLLOW-UPS VIA VIDEO/PHONE? 

Yes, both Clients and Patients can follow-up via Video or Phone Conference. 

 

I HAVE NOT SEEN DR.KELLER IN OVER A YEAR. HOW DO I SCHEDULE? 

For Patients: If you are a patient and have not seen Dr. Keller in over 12 months In-Person or via Video Conference, you are considered a “NEW Patient”. At this point you could schedule a “New Patient Office Visit”  to re-establish a Doctor-Patient relationship with Dr. Keller, OR you could schedule a “New Video Conference” to establish a Client relationship with Dr. Keller. To review the difference between a “Patient” and a “Client” please see below.

For Clients: If you are a client and have not seen Dr. Keller in over 12 months via Video Conference, you are considered a “NEW Client”. At this point you would schedule a “New Video Conference” to establish a Client relationship with Dr. Keller.

 

DOES DR. KELLER SEE CLIENTS FROM OUT-OF-STATE?

Yes. Dr. Keller welcomes Clients from across the country, and internationally.

 

CAN DR. KELLER BE MY DOCTOR?

Given the limitations of Dr. Keller’s license, she cannot be your physician without first seeing you in-person. You are welcome to schedule an in-person visit with her at her Los Angeles Office. To do so, please visit our online scheduling page. Once you establish a Doctor-Patient relationship with Dr. Keller in-person, she will be able to order labs, write certain prescriptions, and otherwise act as your Doctor. Please note: you must be seen in-person at least 1x/year to maintain a Doctor-Patient relationship with Dr. Keller. Dr. Keller is a Naturopathic Doctor in the state of California. Due to certain laws, she can not prescribe certain medication prescriptions at this time.

 

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A “PATIENT” AND A “CLIENT”?

A CLIENT is:

  • Someone who is seen by Dr. Keller via Video Conference or Phone Conference only and not seen in-person. 
  • Someone who has not been seen in-person for over 1 year by Dr. Keller

If you are a client, please note that due to the fact that you have not seen her in person means that she is not your physician. This means that she can not diagnose you, provide you with CPT/Diagnosis codes for insurance, write prescriptions for you, or order certain labs for you. She can review your health history, recommend treatments, provide information and dosage of herbs/supplements, recommend labs, etc…

A PATIENT is:

  • Someone who is seen by Dr. Keller in-person at her Los Angeles office in an appointment setting. 
  • Someone who has been seen in-person at least once a year by Dr. Keller

If you are a patient, please note that Dr. Keller is a Naturopathic Doctor in the state of California. Due to certain laws, she can not prescribe certain medication prescriptions at this time. 

 

DO I STILL NEED A PRIMARY CARE DOCTOR?

Yes. We do not provide acute or urgent care services and we do not replace the services that your current Primary Care medical team provides. We provide a stand alone service that is focused on root cause and advancing your health.

 

CAN I CONTACT DR. KELLER BETWEEN VISITS FOR URGENT QUESTIONS OR CONCERNS?

Dr. Keller can not guarantee availability between visits to address questions or concerns, so at this time she does not answer questions between visits. You are welcome to ask clarifying questions via the Charm Portal to Dr. Keller’s assistant regarding information provided at your consult, however any extensive or new questions will require you to schedule an additional consult. We suggest you schedule recurring consults in advance if you feel as though you may have additional questions.

If you are experiencing an emergency situation, please go to your nearest Urgent Care or Emergency Room as we do not provide acute or urgent care services. 

 

WHEN DO I START FEELING BETTER?

This is very specific to the individual and their case. Some patients/clients feel relief within a few days, while for others it may take months. Dr. Keller can provide you with a more specific timeline during your visit.
